  • SPIROL Receives 2020 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award

    SPIROL is pleased to announce the receipt of the 2020 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award. Two of SPIROL’s locations, SPIROL International Corporation in Danielson, CT, USA and SPIROL Industries Limited in Winsor, Ontario, Canada, each received notification of the awards on July 1, 2021. A Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at General Motors stated, “Suppliers who receive this award recognition have met or exceeded a very stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization for the calendar year 2020.”

    SPIROL has received the General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award every year since it was originally presented in 2012. According to a video presentation by General Motors’ top executives for Supplier Quality Development, “Each year, GM recognizes their top performing Supplier Manufacturing DUNS locations around the globe. This General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award is for those locations who consistently deliver quality products, on-time, and at-rate and with zero disruptions throughout the year.”

    SPIROL manufactures Coiled Spring Pins, Slotted Spring Pins, Solid Pins, Alignment Dowels & Bushings, Spacers, Compression Limiters, Inserts for Plastics, Disc Springs, Precision Metal Shims, Installation Technology and Vibratory Feeding Equipment. SPIROL supplies millions of engineered fastening components to General Motors’ assembly plants located around the world from several global stocking facilities.

    Fastener Fair CONNECT is the first online marketplace and digital business platform unifying Fastener Fair shows worldwide. Fastener Fair Stuttgart, Fastener Fair Italy, Fastener Fair Mexico, Fastener Fair USA and Fastener Fair India are joining forces to provide a unique networking event targeting the global fastener and fixing industry. The digital event, scheduled to take place from 17-18 November 2021, will offer a comprehensive programme for trade professionals, including virtual product showcases, expert webinars and interactive matchmaking opportunities.

  • Bulten starts construction of its new manufacturing facility in Poland

    As previously announced, Bulten will invest in a new manufacturing facility in Radziechowy-Wieprz in Poland. Due to the pandemic situation in April 2020, this investment was halted. Bulten’s Board of directors has now made the decision to restart the project with immediate effect. The construction of the new factory begins with a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2021 and production is expected to start in the first half of 2023. The main operation in the new plant will be surface treatment.

    “I am very pleased that we finally can start the construction of our new facility in Poland. With this new plant the company will have a state-of-the-art surface treatment processes, both in terms of efficiency, quality and sustainability”, says Anders Nyström, President and CEO of Bulten.

    The new manufacturing facility is located in Radziechowy-Wieprz, close to Bulten’s existing facilities in Bielsko-Biala and Wilkowice. The total investment, including land, building and production equipment, amounts to approximately EUR 31 million, of which about EUR 3.5 million is for the already purchased land. The investment is within the existing credit agreement.
