Bad Mergentheim/Main-Tauber-Kreis. At the sixth Expert forum C-Parts management, distinguished keynote speakers from industry, trade, science and consulting ensured a top-class exchange. On Tuesday, 13th June and Wednesday, 14th June 2023, 350 participants from 7 countries gathered together in the Würth Industrial Park in Bad Mergentheim at Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG to discuss trends, innovations and global challenges in the industry.

    1.jpg

“Since our first expert forum in 2017, we have welcomed over 2,400 guests from across Germany and all over the world to our company location in Bad Mergentheim. The focus is on exchanging valuable ideas on solutions for a secure, resilient supply of production and operating materials as well as on significant impulses on market trends and global challenges. This not only results in intensive discussions, valuable business networks and long-term collaborations, but also in customer-oriented innovations. In this way, we ensure that our customers have their focus on the future.," says Martin Jauss, CEO of Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG.

In the face of Industry 4.0, the companies have to deal with changing markets. It is no longer just automation and digitalisation that concern the industry. There are also global issues across all countries and continents: the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, a volatile situation in the procurement markets, climate change and raw material shortages, geopolitical disputes, increasing inflation and a worsening shortage of qualified employees. Leading experts from industry, trade, science and consulting talked about the steps that need to be taken to be able cope with these developments at this year's expert forum. While Univ. Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Horst Wildemann, TCW Management GmbH & Co. KG, spoke about the importance of resilient corporate management with a special focus on its effects in the supply chain, David Reger, CEO & Founder at Neura Robotics GmbH, took up another important topic in his lecture on "Cognitive robots – a new era of human-machine collaboration”, where he focused on the future of a new, changed world of work. A world of work in which man and machine work successfully hand in hand. Prof. Dipl. Inf. Univ., MBA, Dominik B.O. Learning from the experts: a holistic approach to C-Parts management.

With intelligent system solutions, Würth Industrie Service implements optimal supply concepts for production materials as well as for auxiliary and operating materials such as occupational safety, tools or chemical items. Not only does this reduce the procurement effort, optimise processes and reduce costs, but also achieves maximum time savings with maximum delivery reliability and the lowest possible capital commitment. The participants were able to experience how this can be achieved live on site at an accompanying technical exhibition. One of the absolute highlights: The Smart Workplace. With Smart Workplace, walking unnecessarily, searching for parts and manually tracking the requirements are now things of the past! In the assembly workplace of the future, man and machine work hand in hand.  Thanks to numerous options for individual workplace design in combination with connected, intelligent supply solutions, driverless transport systems and worker assistance systems, the C-Parts supply of the future is a success. CPS®miSELF, intelligent solution for digital supply management, proves how A-, B- and C-Parts can also be managed with just one system. It enables industrial customers to combine different suppliers in a single solution and tried and tested hardware while at the same time using the service of Würth Industrie Service for items outside the Würth product range. Just pure innovation! Also during a tour of the logistics at one of the most modern logistics centres for industrial supply in Europe, the participants were able to get a personalised insight into the implementation of automation and digitalisation on an area of more than 65,000 square metres. At this year's Expert forum C-Parts management too, promising innovations were brought to the fore and the participants were able to make valuable contacts and establish networks. Now, true to the motto “Designing the future together”, it is a matter of actively taking charge of it. Because innovators do not wait for change, they drive it.

  • Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2023: Full House, Packed Programme!

Posted in Fairs and exhibitions, Fasteners manufacturers on Jun 12, 2023

Seven months until the renowned industry highlight takes place: together with the 9th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology, the 16th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal working will serve as the meeting place for global players in the field of sheet metal working from the 7th through the 10th of November, 2023. Nine halls are fully booked out at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. The trade fair duo presents complete process sequences for modern, future-proof sheet metal processing, and is thus highly acclaimed amongst the experts. An impressive supplementary programme including the presentation of the “best Award 2023”, the “Blechexpo Steel Convention 2023”, the “futureSteel” congress and the expert forum rounds out the trade fair’s offerings.

    _52A8587 Blechexpo_2021_SCHALL_3000.jpg

As project manager of the renowned trade fair duo, Georg Knauer reports that nine exhibition halls are fully booked out for Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2023. “Tremendous interest in the exhibition, strong dynamics within the industry sector and important future issues,” is how Knauer sums up the current mood. “On the whole it can be observed that process automation is being driven further and further in the field of sheet metal working,” explains the project manager. “Methods based on data-driven, artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning are being exploited to an ever greater extent in production operations in order to optimise processes and, as a result, reduce lead times. Efficient sheet metal processing necessitates flexible machine tools, modern software and virtual simulation. These issues will be addressed intensively at the trade fair. The challenge is sustainability, and in the field of sheet metal processing this means optimum workpiece utilisation and the avoidance of wasted material.

Efficient Production Processes, Efficient Trade Fair Visit

The range of topics covered by Blechexpo/Schweisstec includes efficient process technologies for modern laser technology, fully automated robotic sheet metal processing machines, precision tools and systems for punching, bending, braking and forming, as well as innovative micro-waterjet cutting technologies. Not least of all, the current shortage of qualified production personnel is fuelling further automation across the board, for example in materials handling and machine operation. Planning, implementation and analysis of production processes are becoming more efficient thanks to advancing integration of production data. “Expert visitors at Blechexpo/Schweisstec experience the entire process chain for sheet metal working,” emphasises Georg Knauer. “Suppliers and investment decision-makers meet on an equal footing with direct practical relevance in a working atmosphere.” The international expert audience can plan an issue-oriented trade fair visit, because the arrangement of the nine halls is structured in a differentiated manner: sheet metal, pipe and profile processing will be located in halls 1, 3, 5 and 9. Halls 4 and 6 are reserved for stamping technologies. Cutting, joining and fastening technologies will be presented in hall 7. Hall 8 will focus on pressing and forming technologies. Finally, the issues of steel and metal services, as well as surface finishing technology, will be addressed in hall 10.

Enter Your Submission Now for the “best Award 2023”!

Blechexpo/Schweisstec will feature a world-class, highly interesting supplementary programme once again this year including the “best Award 2023”, which will be presented for the sixth time in cooperation with trade journals Blechnet and MM Maschinenmarkt. The organisers have specified five submission categories analogous to the themes assigned to the exhibition halls, so that applicants can find the most suitable area for their innovations. Exhibitors can submit their entries to www.blechnet.com or www.maschinenmarkt-awards.de/blechexpo. The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2023. An expert jury with renowned representatives from the industry sector will select the winners, who will receive their “best Award” within the framework of a festive event on the afternoon of the first day of the trade fair. “Blechexpo/Schweisstec, and above all the “best Award 2023”, will once again showcase lots of innovations and solutions for digitalisation, sustainability and health protection this year,” hopes jury member Stefanie Wiesner, managing director of the Industrial Division of the German Electric Welding Equipment Association. The new Koelnmesse project has signed the collaboration with the European DIY Retail Association (EDRA) and Global Home improvement Network (GHIN).

International Hardware Fair Italy, the new international project dedicated to the European hardware, building, DIY, garden & outdoor, safety, colour, electrical and industrial supplies market, keeps growing and will debut on 5-6 May 2023 in Bergamo. The strong synergy with EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair Cologne, the world's largest trade fair for the sector, whose successful format will be transferred to the Italian event, is the basis for the future development and consolidation of the new show at an Italian and international level.

The partnership signed with EDRA/GHIN is an important step towards the affirmation of the event on an international level. EDRA/GHIN represents the DIY and Home improvement sectors on a global level, thanks to its wide members range: from local shops (more than 33,000 stores in 76 countries) to resellers and digital platforms.

The choice of the new location, Bergamo, meets the development and internationality requirements of the new event. It is easily accessible, in a strategic position in northern Italy and well connected to all of Europe.

This strategic collaboration will lead to the full support of EDRA/GHIN to the new venture from Koelnmesse.

The association will attend the show and support in the activities of the corresponding programme. EDRA/GHIN General Secretary, John W. Herbert, will participate as a speaker in the conference, presenting a preview of the European and Global DIY scenario of the next few years. Moreover, key European members will take part in the matchmaking, the on-site business meetings programme.

2.jpg John W. Herbert, EDRA/GHIN General Secretary, shared his thoughts on the partnership, saying – “I am very much looking forward to my visit to Bergamo and to the first edition of International Hardware Fair Italy. That this is being organized by the Koelnmesse is for me a guarantee that this trade fair will be most professional and of interest to our international membership”

3.jpg Thomas Rosolia, CEO of Koelnmesse Italy, commented “Thanks to the support of EDRA/GHIN we will continue to pursue our goal of establishing International Hardware Fair Italy as the most representative platform for the European hardware, DIY, garden & outdoor and building sectors in Italy.”

  • LAMIERA 2023 AT FIERAMILANO RHO FROM 10 TO 13 MAY A GOOD TREND FOR THE APPLICATIONS TO EXHIBIT THE TRADE SHOW TO TAKE PLACE AGAIN IN ODD-NUMBERED YEARS

Posted in Fairs and exhibitions, Fastener distribution, Fasteners manufacturers on Jan 09, 2023

The collection of applications to exhibit is going on expeditiously for the next edition of LAMIERA, the international exhibition dedicated to sheet metal forming and cutting machines and related technologies, scheduled to take place at fieramilano Rho from 10 to 13 May 2023.

Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers' association, and organised by CEU-CENTRO ESPOSIZIONI UCIMU, LAMIERA – the only trade show exclusively focused on the sector – will again take place in odd-numbered years.

Considering the economic framework, which is still favourable despite some factors of uncertainty, LAMIERA is getting ready to receive positive feedback from the enterprises of the sector. Besides the foreign markets, they will have a very dynamic and receptive Italian market at their disposal, also thanks to the Government incentives in force until after 2023.

After an extremely positive 2021, in the first six months of 2022, the Italian industry of the sector confirmed its growth trend, registering double-digit increases in the international trade data concerning the exchange of sheet metal forming and cutting machines.

In particular, in the period January-June 2022, the world exports of sheet metal forming and cutting machine tools (laser, waterjet, plasma, etc.) reported a 12% upturn compared with the same period of 2021, totalling more than 8 billion euro. Worldwide imports also grew, by 16%, exceeding 6 billion euro. In this context, Italy highlighted highly satisfactory performances, confirming to be the second most important consumer market in the world in 2021 (latest available data).

“Supported by the Government incentives 4.0, in effect for the whole year 2023 and afterwards - pointed out Alfredo Mariotti, general manager of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE - domestic demand will certainly reward the exhibitors participating in LAMIERA”.

The organisation secretariat is observing a great attention to this event, given not only by the “habitués”, the usual exhibitors, representing all major segments in the repertoire, but also by new enterprises, as well as by companies that have decided to exhibit again at LAMIERA after years of absence.

“Confirmations, new entries and returns - added Alfredo Mariotti – show how significant the interest is in this event, which, edition after edition, has been stabilising its position as the only trade fair of reference for the sector in Italy and improving its appeal even to foreign operators, thus strengthening its image worldwide”.

Machines, systems, equipment for sheet metal processing and cutting, tubes, sections, wires, metal structural work, presses, dies and moulds, welding, surface treatments and finishing, parts, components, accessories, tooling, fastener materials, technical and industrial subcontracting are some of the “traditional” technologies on show.

Besides the large offering of machinery, plants and equipment for sheet metal processing and cutting, tubes, sections, wires, metal structural work, the exhibition will focus on 6 technological themes that have an increasingly crucial impact on the sector today. FABBRICAFUTURA/FACTORY OF THE FUTURE, dedicated to software and technologies for connectivity, data management, automation, robotics and digital systems applied to sheet metal processing; SALDATECH, offering an overview of the wide and diversified world of welding, one of the most important sheet-metal joining technologies; FASTENER INDUSTRY, presenting a proposal of screws, bolts, fastening and clamping systems; WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS, hosting machines, systems, accessories and consumables centred on pre- and post-production treatments, for ferrous and non-ferrous materials, offering a complete overview of this segment that is continuously developing; METROLOGY & TESTING, focused on testing, measuring and quality-control systems and machines, which are essential for production in this field; BLECH ITALY SERVICE, technical subcontracting and services for the industry of the sector.

In addition, as usual, LAMIERA will propose a full programme of in-depth cultural, thematic meetings arranged by the organisers and the exhibitors. The meetings will be hosted at LAMIALAMIERA, a real arena that will be set up within one of the exhibition halls to facilitate a free participation of the present operators.

The trade show will take place in partial conjunction with Made in Steel, the exhibition dedicated to the production chain of steel, which will be held in the halls next to those occupied by LAMIERA, thus enabling operators and journalists to visit the two separate but complementary events on one business trip.

Posted in Fairs and exhibitions, Fastener distribution, Fasteners manufacturers on Oct 14, 2022

+++ Around 25,000 visitors from 125 countries +++ Industry celebrates the trade fair’s relaunch after pandemic-related cancellations +++ Over 70 per cent of trade visitors travelled from outside Germany +++ Exhibitors praise high-quality contacts +++ Event’s results exceeded expectations +++

After more than four years, the EISENWARENMESSE – INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR 2022 has celebrated a successful comeback in Cologne. Around 1,400 exhibitors from 50 countries took advantage of the opportunity to present their products and innovations to the entire hardware industry again. The spectrum of products presented ranged from tools and accessories to building and DIY supplies all the way through to fasteners, fixings and fittings.

After four successful days of trade fair activity, the EISENWARENMESSE – INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR 2022 has closed its doors in Cologne. With around 25,000 trade visitors from 125 countries, the event returned after a 4.5-year enforced break and immediately confirmed its importance as the number one trade fair for the international hardware industry.

“The sense of relief at finally being able to meet face to face again after such a long time and do business in person could be clearly felt among all our exhibitors and trade visitors throughout the entire trade fair,” said Oliver Frese, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH. “You had the feeling that a big family was getting together again after a long time apart.”

“The trade fair was a success, especially in the context of the ongoing travel restrictions in Asia, the acute energy and raw materials crisis, and the geopolitical situation in many countries. The feedback from our exhibitors about the business contacts they’ve made is positive across the board. Clearly, companies made a strategic decision to attend the EISENWARENMESSE – INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR – the decision makers were here,” commented Oliver Frese.

EISEN Award 2022 powered by ZHH

The coveted EISEN Award was presented once again at the first EISENWARENMESSE – INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR after the pandemic. This time, Koelnmesse partnered with the German hardware trade association Zentralverband Hartwarenhandel (ZHH). From the more than 50 innovative products submitted, the expert jury selected the three prize winners of the EISEN Award 2022 powered by ZHH. The prize winners include the AluTec hammer by Picard. The carpenter’s hammer boasts a unique combination of aluminium and steel, which enables previously unachievable ergonomics. The second winning entry is the Go! SMART measuring tool by SOLA-Messwerkzeuge. At just 8 cm long, it brings the analogue and digital worlds together and fulfils the functions of a spirit level, an inclinometer and a protractor. Also among the EISEN Award winners for 2022 is ToughBuilt with its Scraper Utility Knife – the world’s first two-in-one. The patented knife allows users to switch between a utility knife and a scraper with the flick of a thumb.

    DIY Boulevard 2022

In cooperation with the manufacturers’ association Haus & Garten, Koelnmesse presented its 56 DIY suppliers with an exhibition area covering a total length of 272 metres, which had been fully booked long before the opening of the event. The DIY Boulevard offered manufacturers the unique experience of being able to design the POS in line with their branding with an authentic display of their merchandise as well as the chance to make direct contact with end customers.

    eCommerce area

The digital transformation does not stop at the hardware industry. The EISENWARENMESSE – INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR has followed this development closely. With the eCommerce area, it provided the ideal platform for both finding and showcasing digital solutions. The spectrum of products and services ranged from shop systems and electronic payment systems to data storage and processing all the way through to search engine optimisation. The content of the eCommerce area was curated by major names including eBay, OTTO, DHL, Facebook and Shopware.

Wolfgang J. Kirchhoff, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair

“The EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair has earned its reputation as the industry’s leading trade fair over many years. Our international customers have told us that they travelled to Cologne for the trade fair especially because of us. The EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair is the ideal place to tap into new areas of the market and find new retailers.”

Ferdinand Munk, owner and Managing Director of MUNK Group

“Of course, after the coronavirus pandemic, it’s great for the industry to get together again at the EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair. The number of contacts may not be as high as it used to be yet, but the quality is exceptional because the visitors are enthusiastic about returning to Cologne to maintain their business relationships in person.”

Thomas Dammann, Managing Director of the Central Association of the Hardware Trade in Germany (ZHH e.V.)

“The EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair is particularly important for the specialised trade because it provides the opportunity to maintain relationships with international contacts and establish new ones. The trade fair is a chance to get an overview of all the innovations and to be inspired by the other manufacturers.”

Sven Wilde, Head of Marketing Communications at Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH

“The EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair is the ideal opportunity for us to meet our international customers and show them our products and solutions. We’re very satisfied – even though the number of visitors to our stand was lower this year, we feel that the quality of the discussions has been even higher than usual.”

Stefan Weigel, Executive Director/CMO at Wolfcraft

“At Wolfcraft, we don’t just focus on the product. Instead, we look at the bigger picture in terms of sustainability and the customer journey as well as our products. The EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair is a great opportunity for me to explain this wide-ranging approach to visitors, so I’m very happy to be able to take advantage of this platform. It’s a source of potential that we, as suppliers of branded products, will continue to draw on in the future.”
