  • FASTENER POLAND® Trade Fair - no 1 in Central and Eastern Europe

Posted in Fairs and exhibitions, Fastener suppliers, Fasteners manufacturers on Sep 19, 2023

Transformed supply chains and international cooperation networks, the war in Ukraine, an increase in production costs, the introduction of carbon tariffs (CBAM), competition with countries with low production costs, smooth adaptation to changing customer needs, investments in innovation and new technologies - these are the topics that manufacturers and distributors will discuss during the FASTENER POLAND® International Trade Fair of Fastener and Fixing Technology. The 6th edition of the event will take place on October 18-19, 2023 at EXPO Krakow, and the theme will be ecology.

The entire industry in one place

The FASTENER POLAND® is the only international fair of fasteners organized in Central and Eastern Europe - a key forum for exchanging experiences, learning about new products, as well as building effective trade relations between companies from around the world. The pandemic has shown very clearly that face-to-face meetings cannot be replaced in business. FASTENER POLAND® is back to its pre-pandemic state. In October, over 150 companies from 15 countries will present their offer. They will present the most modern industrial fasteners and fittings (from screws, through rivets to nuts, pins or wedges), construction fasteners (anchors, concrete screws, fixing facades and insulation), advanced assembly and installation systems (with the presentation of the latest riveting devices, screwdrivers and screw insertion systems or assembly brackets), as well as technologies for the production of fasteners and devices for their storage and distribution.

We connect buyers from all over the world

The fair will be visited by buyers from industries that use fasteners for the production of their products. This year, the organizers direct the promotional campaign especially to industries with the greatest potential. Photovoltaics, automotive, aviation and the medical industry are sectors with the greatest demand for all types of fasteners and fixings. Poland is among the top ten countries in the world in terms of the size of the photovoltaic market. In Europe, only Germany and Spain are ahead of us in this regard. The industry records continuous sales increases and is developing dynamically. Therefore, the demand for components is growing, in particular for specialized and quality fasteners. The fasteners market responds to these needs by designing and delivering the best solutions with enhanced resistance to difficult conditions in which solar systems are used. Several dozen manufacturers will present their solutions on a special zone dedicated to this industry.

Bleisure - combining business with spare time

We believe that success begins with meetings, therefore organizers encourage everyone interested in expanding business contacts to participate in the fair. In addition to free invitations to the fair, a program combining business travel with leisure was developed. Trend Bleisure - a word created from the combination of the words "business" and "leisure" - is the key message of the strategy implemented by Targi w Krakowie Ltd. Participants of the fair will be inspired by the map of attractions, which will include recommended accommodation, local restaurants, monuments, climatic places and cultural centers. And since there is no shortage of interesting places in Krakow, the organizers are sure that some customers will extend their stay by additional days.

  • Bulten enters into agreement to acquire Exim & Mfr Holdings Pte Ltd

Posted in Acquisitions, Fasteners manufacturers on Jul 10, 2023

Bulten has entered into an agreement to acquire all shares in Exim & Mfr Holdings Pte Ltd “Exim”, an Asian, Singapore-based distributor of fasteners and other components, for a purchase sum of approximately SGD 66.3 million (SEK 530 million) on a cash-free and debt-free basis. The acquisition affords Bulten a good platform to grow in new sectors, where the distribution stage is a pivotal sales channel.

The acquisition is expected to contribute to Bulten’s development and earnings, and to increase earnings per share. Exim gives Bulten access to a large, broad customer base in growth sectors in a dynamic region. The acquisition is an important part of Bulten’s strategy, which aims for growth outside of the company’s primary customer group of automotive, and to improve risk diversification, as well as margins.

Anders Nyström, President and CEO of Bulten Group, comments: “Our strategy sets out a clear focus on balancing our sales through growth in customer groups beyond the automotive industry. The aim is for these to account for at least 20% of sales by 2025. The acquisition of Exim takes us into the distribution stage, which is a key to profitable growth in new sectors. Exim is a well-managed company with an international customer base and developed processes for distribution and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), which is suitable for industries with completely different purchasing patterns than Bulten has historically been used to. Exim’s base in Singapore is also highly attractive. It enables us to take advantage of the strong growth in that region, and we also see potential in using Exim’s sales network to increase sales for our factories in China and Taiwan. Exim will, together with Bulten's rapidly growing business to consumer electronics customers, constitute the beginning of a new industrial segment.”

    Background

Exim & Mfr Holdings Pte Ltd is a privately owned company based in Singapore. Established in 1982, the company distributes fasteners and other c-parts*, along with related services from more than 1,800 manufacturers and suppliers for American, European, Indian and Japanese companies operating in Asia. The company has more than 1,000 customers in a range of sectors including telecom, electronics, energy, medical technology, aviation, and other industrial manufacturing. Exim has approximately 140 employees in Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam, and annual sales of about SGD 40 million (SEK 320 million).

    Purchase sum and completion

The purchase sum is approximately SGD 66.3 million (SEK 530 million) on a cash-free and debtfree basis. The sum will be paid in cash with equal financing from an existing credit facility with Svenska Handelsbanken and an additional loan from the Swedish Export Credit Corporation. The acquisition is expected to be completed during Q3 2023. The transaction cost is estimated at SEK 8 million.

KPMG, Drew & Napier, and Setterwalls are acting as advisers to Bulten in connection with the acquisition.

Access to the shares is expected to take place on August 31, 2023, taking into account the fulfillment of customary conditions according to the transfer agreement.

    * Components with a low unit price that manufacturing companies stock in large quantities. Questions related to the entered agreement regarding the acquisition can be asked at Bulten’s presentation of the Q2 result on July 12.

  • VALVE WORLD EXPO finally returns - successful restart for the international industrial valves and fittings summit in Düsseldorf

Posted in Fairs and exhibitions, Fasteners manufacturers on Dec 16, 2022

Whether LNG terminals, gas storage facilities, wind turbines, pipelines or water pipelines - no industrial sector functions without the use of industrial valves and fittings.

Therefore, after a four-year absence, the international players of these key technologies were looking forward to their VALVE WORLD EXPO 2022 at Düsseldorf Fairgrounds again.

388 exhibitors from 29 countries presented concentrated technological power over three days in exhibition halls 1 and 3. Innovative machines, plants, components, systems and pumps were shown on a net area of 12,000 square metres.

"After two years of online meetings, we are just happy to have direct contact with customers and interested parties again. A generally positive mood was noticeable and many discussion partners are very happy that the valve family was finally able to meet again in person”, said a pleased Peter Wegjan, Sales Manager Special Ball Valves (Petro-) Chemical, Plant Engineering at Hartmann Valves .

Many premieres such as Messe Düsseldorf's sustainability campaign with its ecoMetals Trails, the EXPO Forum as a jampacked, two-day conference format, the presentation of the Valve Stars Awards and a rousing exhibitor party complemented the lively events in the exhibition halls.

The parallel international Valve World Conference, which was again organised by KCI in 2022 with around 70 lectures, seminars and workshops, attracted around 400 delegates to the conference rooms in Hall 1. In 2022, VALVE WORLD EXPO again fulfilled its role as an impulse generator and international meeting platform for an entire industry. 2 50% of respondents stated they had found current trends and information here.

"From metre-high ball valves to tiny microvalves - everything the industry has to offer in terms of innovations for current challenges could be seen and experienced in our exhibition halls”, said a delighted Bernd Jablonowski, Executive Director of Messe Düsseldorf.

After a four-year break, well-attended exhibition halls demonstrated just how important personal exchange is to players in the industry. Experts from the oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, power plant technology, marine and offshore, water and wastewater management, automotive, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical and medical industries all gathered information in Düsseldorf, proving that both the trade fair offering and demand for it have struck a chord in the current climate.

"In our industry, people value the direct discussion about innovations, new products and processes that only an in-person trade fair can offer. In my opinion, presence trade fairs will continue to maintain their fixed place in the mix of B2B communication," explained Thomas Weisschuh, Head of Product Management and Innovations AS-Schneider Group confirming the successful course of the trade fair and added: "For the European region, VALVE WORLD EXPO is an important leading trade fair for industrial valves. This is where our industry meets all the important decisionmakers under one roof to find out about the technologies of the future."

On three days of the fair, international trade visitors from over 80 countries came to Düsseldorf - at 79%, the proportion of decisionmakers was very high. In addition to users of valves and fittings, fittings manufacturers and the fittings trade, energy supply companies also gathered information at the trade fair.

A high visitor presence from overseas, in particular from India, the USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and 3 from some North African states, shaped the events in the exhibition halls alongside many European visitors. 94% of the respondents plan to come to Düsseldorf again in two years. VALVE WORLD EXPO and the accompanying conference will then take place from 3 to 5 December 2024.
